Lutz Family Did Something and Saved a Life

I wake up this morning feeling inspired by a Lutz family that makes me believe we can do more to end the suffering of homeless cats if we all do something.

Our focus this year is empowering people to do something through education, support and resources. Our campaign "I can't do everything but I can do something" hopefully will resonate with all who find a homeless can crossing their path or a colony of cats in need of care.

Kevin the cat, named by the children of the family, wandered up into the Lutz family's yard late fall 2025. Mom contacted us, CATpassionate Village. We promised to add her to our growing list of requests for help and get back to her with a time we could come and trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) Kevin.

In January, we contacted Mom, who said the family found Kevin to be friendly, so they took him to Planned Pethood in Wesley Chapel, where he received his full vetting. They also found a home for this polydactyl (six toes, also known as a Hemingway) cat.

They are a good example of what any one of us can do to save a cat life, because as much as CATpassionate Village would love to be able to do everything, we can't. But, we can help people do something.
