OUR STORY

The Village started in September 2018 with the discovery of five kittens no more than eight-weeks-old in a Lutz office park. They were trapped, spayed-neutered, vaccinated and adopted to wonderful forever homes.

With their discovery it became clear there was a community of homeless cats living in the area that needed to be provided food and water daily. Trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) needed to be instituted, too. We established feeding schedules and trapping schedules until all of the feral cats were spayed/neutered/vaccinated in what became our four colonies.

On July 1, 2021, we became a full-fledged non-profit organization.

Nearly seven years later we have spayed/neutered/vaccinated nearly 500 cats. That number is the culmination of our own hands-on efforts in our colonies and beyond. We have loaned traps and covered the cost of spay/neuter/vaccinations. We have partnered with others passionate about improving the condition of homeless feral cats and supported pop-up clinics.

Our all-volunteer team works hard daily feeding four colonies of about 45 cats twice a day and taking care of their medical needs as they arise. We help other feral cat caregivers get their colonies fully TNVR'd and when we have additional food resources, we share them. Monthly, we work the spay-neuter pop-up clinic at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, giving up the better part of a Sunday once a month.

We are passionate about making the world a better place for homeless feral cats.
